A sad, sad month

We can finally pull ourselves out of the funk of the departure of our most favorite quarterback for all of the Colts.  Oh, Peyton, we'll miss your commericals the most.  In my personal opinion, because none of you asked and no one really cares, is that this guy should hang up his cleats and be happy with the 10 jabillion dollars he has and the ability he still has to walk.  One wrong hit on the field and he is done. Anyway, Indianapolis is just a little less classy without him around.

A few weekends ago, Brickworld 2012 rolled into town.  Lots of giant displays with Lego to get us inspired to create with our own bin.  This one was a repeat from last year.  It's my favorite as it has 3 trains and lots of buttons you can push to make things happen in the display.

A pretty cool town hall with trees.

I liked this street sweeper that followed at the end of the parade picking up after the horses.

Another cool town setting.  At this point, I got too involved catching up with my friend Dan, who was also in India.  His company is working on a Lego creation for a competition.  You bet I'm in on that, but how can a Lego obsessed mom compete with real architects?  The answer is Micro.  Stay tuned.

Grandma, Great Grandma and Tessa came down for a few days to keep us company while Jim was away on a trip.  We bought stuff to make Evie's first communion dress.  I made them Mango Lassi (mango smoothies) for snack.

Tessa got her fancy Indian outfit from me while she was visiting.  Then we all had to dress up to have our picture taken.  Trust me, it doesn't take much for me to be talked into wearing my sari.  I don't have nearly enough places to  wear it.

So this is my attempt at California Mid Century Modern in Microscale.  I am still refining it.  I hope to have my submission into the contest soon.

Jim came home for a few days.  We watched a ton of basketball and took a break to attend the PTO auction fundraiser.  I think we clean up nicely.  We ended up bidding on and winning the naming rights of the driveway of the school.  We haven't chose a name yet, but you can be sure that there will be a blogpost when the sign goes up.

The weather has been crazy warm.  We have even turned on the AC.  All the gardener people say to just clean up your yard and enjoy for a couple more weeks.  Don't plant anything because we could still have a frost.  Of course, that doesn't count for our tomato and basil seeds.  Annalise also insisted we plant some flowers too.  5 flats are now in the basement under the grow lights.

As a reward for my little gardners, I made them a smoothie using an Indian fruit called Chikoo.  It's like eating honey and brown sugar.

Of course they liked it.
